Get to Know Stashlogix and their CEO
The Stashlogix story starts with a dad concerned that his young kids might get into his medicine, especially when they were traveling or off camping in the Colorado mountains; please tell me about, Dad.
“I had a long career as an engineer in the water treatment industry but the thought of getting into the cannabis industry at the ground-level was too exciting to ignore. I’ve always been a hard worker and a cannabis consumer, but I hated the judgment of being a “stoner” so, I set out to break the stigma.
I wanted to develop products that helped cannabis consumers be more responsible and discreet. I loved edibles but I didn’t want my kids getting into them, accidentally or purposefully, so I designed a bag with an integrated lock.
Next, I tackled the smell-proofing and organization aspects. I wanted to help the ‘new cannabis consumers’ learn about cannabis and avoid the judgment while doing so.”
Can you take me back to the day that Stashlogix was born; what do you remember about it?
“Colorado had just legalized cannabis for adults and I was excited about being in the epicenter of the newly legal industry. I was naive about what it takes to launch a business, but CanopyBoulder, a cannabis business start-up incubator just launched, so I applied and was accepted. There were 200 companies that applied. I decided that the stars had aligned, so I jumped in with both feet.”
Please tell me about the team that continues to make Stashlogix possible.
“CanopyBoulder introduced me to my first mentor, Steve Norman. Steve had launched many businesses and he had lots of experience in branding and marketing. Steve and I met weekly and once the 3 month business accelerator ended, I asked Steve to join the team full time.
Steve became our first investor and we’ve been at it ever since. Start-ups are not for everyone so we’ve lost a few good employees that have all contributed to the current successes. We are still a small team of five that are grinding it out, day in and day out.”

I love bamboo about as much as I love cannabis; what led you all to the decision to incorporate bamboo in your products?
“Bamboo is a fascinating plant. It’s one of the world’s most sustainable products. It grows really fast and it grows into a wood-like substance. We use bamboo in our SmartJars (humidor jars), our stash tubes, and our activated-carbon fiber (odor-absorbing) fabric is made of bamboo.
We’re trying to be environmentally friendly by using sustainable products and making products to last.”
