The New Trend! What is a CBG Hemp Flower?

CBG hemp flowers have been growing in popularity over the last decade. But, what are CBG hemp flowers, and how do they differ from Plain Jane's Delta 8 CBG hemp flowers. In this article, we'll cover everything you need to know about this powerhouse bud.

CBG Hemp Flower

CBGA, aka Cannabigerol(CBG), is a prominent cannabinoid found in the marijuana plant. This cannabinoid plays a crucial role in the plants' biology as it is a precursor to many other essential cannabinoids, including CBDA (Cannabidiolic acid) and delta-9 THC (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid). In other words, through a series of chemical processes, CBG is naturally converted to form both delta-9 THC and CBD.

It's not easy to search for quality CBG buds rich in both CBG oil and delta-8 THC. Fortunately, we've got you covered!

Plain Jane Delta 8 CBG hemp flowers develop dense buds enriched in a rainbow of zesty aromas with a subtle chamomile flavor. Plain Jane Delta 8 CBG hemp flowers are jam-packed with a rich cannabinoid profile where the CBGA levels average at 6%, delta-8 THC at 7.51%, and a CBDA at 1.51%.

How does CBG affect the Endocannabinoid System?

The cannabis plant we all know and love doesn't just produce the classic delta 9 THC. That's right! a cannabis plant can produce over 100 if not more different cannabinoids, all of which have unique benefits. Now, the science of cannabis is indeed a complex subject matter, one of which I will discuss in a later article.

But, What Does Delta-8 THC Even Do?

As mentioned above, cannabis plants, be they industrial hemp or recreational cannabis Sativa have diverse molecular biology. The cannabis plant produces a variety of phytocannabinoids, each with unique properties of its own. The entourage effect is a theory that suggests that when a diverse range of cannabinoids is consumed or used together, then their therapeutical effects increase. To put simply, if you use a combination of delta-8 THC, delta-9 THC, CBD, CBG, and other known terpenoids, then this synergy has the potential to boost the medical effects of delta-8 THC and CBG.

So how does this relate to delta-8 THC? I've covered the significance and growing popularity of delta-8 THC in many other articles in the USA. Delta-8 THC is indeed a psychoactive compound that can make a person high. However, unlike traditional THC (delta-9 THC), the high isn't as pronounced and is much rather soothing, cerebral, and calm. Delta 8 is synthesized from CBD found in industrial hemp plants, and for this reason, it is currently considered a legal substance in the USA. By combining delta 8 THC with CBG, the likely therapeutic effects seen in both cannabinoids may be potentiated if we extrapolate the same logic described in the entourage effect.

So, Can CBG get you High?

As discussed above, CBG is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid. This means it's not going to get a person high. Hence a CBG hemp flower will not get you high. However, not all hope is lost! Delta 8 CBG hemp flowers contain delta-8 THC, which is a psychoactive cannabinoid. The combination of these two cannabinoids can elicit a cerebral soothing high.

CBG Flower Facts! Does CBG Hemp have any Benefits?

How delta-8 THC flowers are grown

Over the last few decades, many of the research done on cannabis Sativa revolved around two primary cannabinoids, delta-9 THC and CBD. More recently, scientists have begun the tedious task of studying the pharmacological properties and potential health benefits of CBG hemp flowers. Now, there is tons of research and studies currently being performed on the efficacy and pharmacology of CBG. Below are just some of the findings reported by a few recent studies.

  • CBG hemp flowers for appetite stimulation: A study on rats performed in 2020 demonstrated that CBG could result in hyperphagia (increased eating) by allowing rats to increase their meal frequency.
  • CBG hemp and it's potential in cancer therapy: A glioblastoma is an aggressive form of brain cancer in people. A more recent 2021 study demonstrated that CBG could destroy therapy-resistant glioblastoma stem cells. This means that CBG could have potential therapeutic advantages in regard to cancer research.
  • Anti-inflammatory effects associated with IBD patients: A 2013 study performed on a rodent model demonstrated that CBG significantly decreased inflammation in rats with colitis and inflammatory disease. If researched further, there is evidence to suggest that CBG could have anti-inflammatory properties.

Apart from the few studies I've cited above, other reported uses for CBG hemp flowers include the following:

  • Increased focus and concentration
  • Increased energy levels
  • Analgesia (pain-relief effects)
  • Anti-inflammatory effects

Now, everything stated above is subjective to an individual user's experience. The pharmacological properties pertaining to CBG hemp flowers are still a relatively hot topic amongst the science community; hence, very few studies exist. The reported benefits described above have been collated from multiple online user resources,
