Cannabis Concentrates: Nug Run and Trim Run
Nug run and trim run describe the plant material used to make a cannabis or hemp extract. They do not, by themselves, establish a product’s potency, purity, flavor, safety, or value.
What is a nug run?
A nug run is made from harvested flower rather than separated trim. The flower may be dried, cured, fresh, or frozen depending on the extraction process. The term describes the input material, not a single extraction method or finished texture.
What is a trim run?
A trim run uses material removed while preparing flower, such as sugar leaves and small flower fragments. Trim can contain cannabinoids and terpenes, but the composition varies by crop, plant part, handling, and extraction process.
What the label cannot tell you
Neither “nug run” nor “trim run” guarantees a cannabinoid percentage, contaminant result, terpene level, color, flavor, or effect. Review the exact product name, ingredient list, net weight, batch or lot information, and any linked laboratory report. A report supports only the product or lot and panels it identifies.
