Plain Jane CBG Hemp Flower – Crisp, Clean, and Cannabinoid-Rich

Plain Jane CBG Hemp Flower is a premium hemp strain cultivated to highlight cannabigerol (CBG)—a rare, naturally occurring cannabinoid often referred to as the “mother cannabinoid.” CBG is called this because it’s the chemical precursor from which other cannabinoids, including CBD and THC, are formed. In most hemp plants, CBG exists only in trace amounts, but through careful breeding, this flower delivers dominant levels of CBG while remaining non-intoxicating and fully compliant with federal law.

  • Strain Type: Hybrid, CBG-dominant

  • Cannabinoid Profile: High CBG, low THC (<0.3%)

  • Cultivation: Sun-grown in the U.S., hand-trimmed and slow-cured

  • Compliance: 2018 Farm Bill compliant, third-party lab tested

  • Total Cannabinoids: 13.57%

  • CBGA: 12.1% (121.0 mg/g)

  • CBG: 0.939% (9.39 mg/g)

  • CBC: 0.336% (3.36 mg/g)

  • Delta-9 THC: 0.196% (1.96 mg/g)

  • THCA: Not detectable

This makes CBG hemp flower a unique addition for those who want to explore beyond CBD and experience a different expression of the hemp plant.

What Is CBG and How Is It Different from CBD?

CBG (Cannabigerol) is one of more than 100 cannabinoids found in hemp. While CBD has become widely known, CBG is still emerging in popularity.

  • Role in the plant: CBG is the “parent” cannabinoid that eventually converts into CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids as the plant matures.

  • Availability: Because it naturally occurs in small amounts, CBG-rich flower is considered rare and often sought after by hemp enthusiasts.

  • Experience: Customers often describe CBG flower as smoother and lighter in aroma and flavor compared to CBD flower, making it approachable for new users.

Understanding CBGA

CBGA, or cannabigerolic acid, is often referred to as the “mother cannabinoid.” It’s the compound that serves as the starting point for other cannabinoids like CBD, CBG, and THC. During the hemp plant’s growth cycle, natural enzymes convert CBGA into different cannabinoids, shaping the strain’s final profile.

In most hemp plants, CBGA levels decrease as the plant matures, but in CBG-rich varieties, cultivation methods are tailored to preserve higher amounts of this rare cannabinoid. This makes CBGA an important part of the hemp plant’s chemistry, contributing both to its complexity and to the balance of a full-spectrum experience.

Aroma & Flavor Profile

CBG flower delivers a clean and subtle sensory profile, perfect for those who appreciate a lighter hemp experience.

  • Primary Notes: Herbal and earthy undertones that highlight its natural simplicity.

  • Accents: Gentle hints of chamomile paired with light citrus zest for a refreshing lift.

  • Flavor: Smooth, mild, and slightly woody on the finish, creating a balanced and approachable taste.

Key Terpenes:

  • Bisabolol – Brings soft floral and chamomile-like qualities.

  • Limonene – Adds bright, citrus-forward notes.

  • Humulene – Contributes earthy, woody depth.

The result is a terpene-rich flower that feels versatile and refined, especially for those who prefer a gentle aroma compared to sweeter or gassier hemp strains.

Works for what I needed! Smoother than what I’ve had in the past.

PJ CBG Flower

The CBG flower is the only thing I've ordered from PJ that I was a little disappointed with. Had I never had other brands, I would have thought it was a little better, but this lacks the sugary trichome coverage typically seen in other CBG flower. It is decent looking flower, but I want to see that CBG coverage that tells me it's been handled and grown well.

Dry Dry Dry

This is my go-to flower from PJ's. I like that it helps w/ my aches and pains from chemotherapy w/o making me high in the head. So I decided to order the 7.5 gram bag using the great coupon code PJ offers. Sadly, this product was very dry. I thought it would be OK since I smoke from a bong, but it's burning my throat. I keep it sealed in the zip top bag it came in & what I grind goes into a small air tight dark medicine bottle. I'm disappointed w/ this batch,

Best quality CBG I have had to date. Often times I have found that CBG flower is poorly cured and so dry it's brittle but this is more similar to what I would expect from hemp flower of any kind. Definitely good to mix with other CBD flower but enjoyable on its own. Great for alleviating brain fog and grounding you in the moment with no negative effects for me.
